From First Sip to Barista Bliss: My Origin Story in the World of Coffee

Two years ago, I would have laughed if you told me I’d be a barista. My empathy was always with those who toiled tirelessly behind the scenes, often without fair recognition or reward. And yet, here I am, two years deep and more passionate than ever. It all started with a desperate need for change and an introduction to Lejla, my mentor and the wife of a dear friend. She saw something in me I hadn’t yet seen in myself.

I promised hard work and dedication despite my lack of experience. As we prepared for the grand opening of the café, I found myself immersed in a team that was as diverse in skills as they were in coffee knowledge.

Today, after two years, I’ve earned fourth place among baristas in the Balkans, mastering the craft of making all kinds of coffee and teaching others to do the same. But the most valuable lessons weren’t about coffee at all. They were about perseverance and outworking doubt. These lessons have become my guiding principles, and now, I want to share them with you.
